![]() The language was bad but there’s no major dialogue in the 2nd so it’s basically not noticeable with subtitles off, aside from a few minor occasions. I still was on the edge, but I guess it wasn’t as bad as most things today in movies, tv and other things. It was very brutal but for a 13 year old boy, is just cool. I was VERY skeptical at this game, but when my son told me he could get it for free I decided to give it a chance, and if it was a no afterwards he could delete it with no money lost. I gave the original game a solid 80% rating and I will give this one the exact same rating.I am a mother of 4, so it’s no shocker when one of my kids asks for a game with violence, language, and sexual content. Equipped with many jump scare moments, Outlast 2 performs on a different level as the first game as there seems to be a lot more suspense. In conclusion, much like the first game, this is a tribute to the genre. ![]() Could be coincidence but this is my gut feeling. I do feel this second game is a little more difficult than the first as I clearly died more often than I wanted. Ever since, I play this game without her around, haha. ![]() At one point I got “surprised” by the enemy in the village that I almost jumped up, waking her up along the way. I made the mistake to play this game the first time next to my sleeping wife. Outlast 2 does an even better job at the suspense game. Like moving carts under half destroyed ladders in order to climb up into an attic. Solve small puzzles along the way in order to progress in the story. Sneaking around to avoid the enemies in this game, unable to really defend yourself. The eerie atmosphere throughout everything. The camera with night function, scavenging batteries to keep it going and yes, those are still to be found in the strangest of locations. Like its predecessor, everything works pretty much the same way. Where is your wife and why did you encounter an empty crash helicopter? What was that horrible sight of that dead body? What is happening in this village? It is clear you are alone and you need to first find your wife! You make it down the hill and then you hit a little village in the middle of the night. When you finally come to, you are unconscious but alive. The game itself starts with you and your wife crash landing the helicopter you were flying. The investigation has lead you miles into the Arizona desert, to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do. You’re following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe. The two of you are investigative journalists willing to take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. ![]() You are Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with your wife, Lynn. Knoth and his flock are preparing for the tribulations of the end of times and you’re right in the thick of it. Outlast 2 introduces you to Sullivan Knoth and his followers, who left our wicked world behind to give birth to Temple Gate, a town, deep in the wilderness and hidden from civilization. Set in the same universe as the first game, but with different characters and a different setting, Outlast 2 is a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets.
